Biography Lisanne Soeterbroek – Netherlands
At the age of fourteen, violinist Lisanne Soeterbroek (1984) made her début in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw (Khatchaturians Concerto) and has since performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dutch Chamber Orchestra, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, the Dutch National Youth Orchestra, the State Orchestra of Frankfurt an der Oder and the Baden-Badener Philharmonie.
Mrs. Soeterbroek is since 2013 first concertmaster of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (Belgium). Since 2023 she is also appointed Main Subject Teacher Violin at Codarts Conservatory Rotterdam.
In 2020 she released her first Solo-CD with works of Bach and Andriessen with the label 7 Mountain Records.
She is the primarius of the Vespucci Stringquartet, www.vespuccikwartet.nl, and initiator of their productions ‘Kreutzersonata’ (2017), with film, ‘Prokofiev moves’ (2017), with dance & the children’s shows ‘de Nieuwe Kleren van de Keizer’ (2018) & ‘Peter en de Draak’ (2023), with actor. In 2014 and 2019 they recorded CD’s with the label Footloose. Since 22/23 the quartet has their own concertseries ‘Vespucci & Friends’ in Amsterdam Noord.
Ms. Soeterbroek won top prizes in the Dutch National Oskar Back Violincompetition 2007 & 2011, the Padova International Music Competition 2012, the Cremona Solo Violin Competition 2010 and the ‘Internationaler Wettbewerb für Violine’ 2001. She was awarded the ‘Kersjes van de Groenekan Prijs 2007’ and the Gelderse Muziekzomer 2008 titled her the first ‘Young Artist in Residence’ in the history of this festival.
Ms. Soeterbroek studied with Coosje Wijzenbeek and Vera Beths at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and ended her Master’s degree in 2008 summa cum laude, with a distinction for ‘all-round musician’. In 2009-2010 she followed a Postgraduate Study in Graz (Austria), with Prof. Eszter Haffner.
She’s often invited as guestconcertmaster at orchestras like the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra London, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2020 Lisanne is also a portrait photographer and made portraits of many musicians. Her portraits were already commissioned by the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. Her portfolio you can find on this website, on Facebook and on Instagram.
In 2023 she created for the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra the family-concert ‘the 4 Seasons’ with actor Freek de Craecker. In November 2024 their new production ‘The Wizard of Oz’ with music of Strawinsky is scheduled.
Since 2023 Lisanne takes conducting classes with conductor Hans Leenders at Codarts Rotterdam.
Lisanne plays on a Ferdinando Gagliano built in 1773.

CV Lisanne Soeterbroek – violiste
Lisanne Soeterbroek, geboren te Sittard (NL), studeerde bij Coosje Wijzenbeek en Vera Beths aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. Zij sloot haar Masterstudie af met een 10 met onderscheiding voor ‘all-round musician’. Hierna volgde zij een Postgraduate Study in Graz (A) bij Prof. Eszter Haffner.
Sinds 2013 is zij aangesteld als eerste concertmeester van het Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. In 2020 bracht zij een solo-CD uit met werken van Bach en Andriessen bij het label ‘7 Mountain Records’.
Sinds 2023 is zij aangesteld als Hoofdvakdocent Viool aan het Codarts Conservatorium Rotterdam.
Lisanne won diverse nationale en internationale prijzen bij concoursen als het Padova International Music Competition 2012, het Oskar Back Nationaal Vioolconcours 2007 & 2011, het International Solo Violin Competition Cremona 2010 en het ‘Internationaler Wettbewerb für Violine’ 2001.
In 2007 werd haar de Kersjes van de Groenekan Prijs toegekend en Lisanne was in 2008 de allereerste Young Artist in Residence van de Gelderse Muziekzomer. In 2009 tourde zij in de serie ‘Debuut’ als primarius van The Hague String Variations (strijksextet).
Sinds 2009 is Lisanne primarius van het Vespucci Kwartet. Dit strijkkwartet bracht in 2014 en 2019 CD’s uit bij het label Footloose, met werken van Mozart, Dvorak, Haydn, Brahms en Webern.
Lisanne creëerde voor dit kwartet klassieke muziek-voorstellingen met net een vleugje extra. Zo ontstonden de producties ‘Kreutzersonate’ (met film, 2017), ‘Prokofiev moves’ (met dans, 2018), de kindervoorstellingen ‘de Nieuwe Kleren van de Keizer’ en ‘Peter & de Draak’ (met acteur, 2018 & 2023). Sinds 22/23 heeft het kwartet een eigen concertserie in Amsterdam Noord, genaamd ‘Vespucci & Friends’, met 4 afwisselende concerten per concertseizoen. Meer info vindt u op:

Lisanne soleerde met vele orkesten, waaronder het Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, het Nederlands Kamerorkest, het Nationaal Jeugdorkest, het Staatsorkest van Frankfurt an der Oder, de Baden-Badener Philharmonie en het Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. Op haar veertiende maakte ze haar debuut in de Grote Zaal van het Concertgebouw met het vioolconcert van Khatchaturian.
Van 2009 tot 2013 werkte Lisanne als aanvoerder 2e violen bij het Nederlands KamerOrkest. Als gastconcertmeester speelde zij o.a. bij het Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orkest, City of Birmingham Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra London, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris en het Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest.
